Autumn trip to Rondane National Park & Romsdalen, Norway
I spent last weekend (14-17. Sept) in Rondane National Park, which is a beautiful part of Norway and especially in the autumn. This is my third year in a row we visit this area and i’m always impressed with the nature that surrounds us there and we always get interesting conditions. I feel so lucky to have the world's best traveling companion on these trips, and the autumn trip to Rondane is one of the highlights of the year..
Together with my buddies Hans Gunnar Aslaksen and Morten Eriksen, we drove out Thursday afternoon from Skien and Larvik (Hans Gunnar) and spent the night at Skogli camping close to Dørålen, Rondane https://www.skoglicamping.com I truly recommend Skogli Camping with its excellent cabins and close to the action. The cabin we got even had a fireplace which really exited Hans Gunnar.. He fired it up, poured himself a glas of wine and was smiling the rest of that evening. Morten and me made sure we had some great music and we probably stayed up a little bit to late that night..
The morning forecast looked promising for some fog, but didn’t happened. We had a quick stop at Dørålen for a couple of hours, but the weather and light was flat and a bit boring, so we decided to drive a couple of hours north to Isterdalen/Romsdalen since the forecast was more promising there. We spent the night at Trollstigen resort https://www.trollstigenresort.no
Saturday we drove back down to Dørålen for sunset and sunrise Sunday. We spent the night at Fjellsyn Camping https://fjellsyn.no This is the third time we stay at this location and it comes highly recommended.
Sunrise Sunday was truly beautiful with fog and some lovely soft sunlight, no wind and we even got some fresh snow on the mountains.. Some of the best conditions we have had at Dørålen during the years we have been there.
I have gathered a collection of some the images from the trip in this blog which i’m pretty happy with.
To bad its a year to next trip to Rondane, but the memories from this year will help me through the wait out..
